Macbeth returns from the war, a valiant hero to a virtuous country. But strange threats lurk in the smog, and after meeting the witches, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth begin to step into the shadows.

York Shakespeare Project returns to present Shakespeare’s iconic drama, surrounding the audience with a corrupted world of moving forests, daggers in the dark, and cyberpunk dystopia, in the ruins of a civilisation clinging to its last few points of light.

Macbeth is the penultimate play in York Shakespeare Project’s mission to present all of Shakespeare’s plays in 20 years.
