Tropicana: The Queer Comedy Cabaret
Aidan Sadler presents... TROPICANA
The Queer Comedy Cabaret
“A newly discovered comedy icon” The Wee Review
“Tropicana is pure heaven” Culture Fix
Following their sold out, extended, award-winning Edinburgh Fringe run, Tropicana is the future of queer comedy cabaret! Soon to storm the UK circuit, Tropicana will be the most engaging LGBTQIA+ act of the year. The show is an exploration and unashamed assault on the gender binaries, featuring amiably anarchic stand up punctuated by electrifying 80s’ synthwave ranging from Spandau Ballet to ABC. Drawing on their own tumultuous experience of being queer in a small industrial town, the audience is taken on a journey to the absurd and surreal mind of Aidan Sadler. Nothing is safe from ridicule such as body image, straight folk and the dreaded ASOS Gays!
Aidan Sadler is a queer cabaret artist from Gravesham, Kent. Coming up through the local cabaret circuit, they went on to work in the cruise & leisure industry before writing their own show during lockdown. Aidan prides themself as being a home- grown artist with their own unique angle. Following the glowing, 5* success of Tropicana, Aidan is looking to branch out into original music and is currently working on their next project, Rat Catcher. This will be a one-person tour-de-force delving into their past as a straight-acting pest controller weekdays and Queen come Friday night. Since their début at Edinburgh Fringe, Aidan has also diversified into compèring, crowd work and unconventional performance art.
